Instructions for Use & Safety

A guide to the proper maintenance and safe use of your Pilates equipment. Read all instructions and the following important precautions carefully before using GALAXY REFORMER or GALAXY REFORMER TOWER. Safety always depends on proper maintenance and safe use of the equipment. Please read it carefully and keep it for future reference. Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious injury or damage.

SECURITY

It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that all Galaxy Reformer users are adequately informed of all precautions.
Use the Galaxy Reformer only on a flat surface.
Keep your hands and feet away from all moving parts.
‘When the Reformer is not in use, leave at least two springs attached to the frame.
Do not stand upright on the footbar.
Make sure that the JUMPBOARD is properly fastened to the special socket, that you have tightened the stabilizing clamps and finally that the footbar has been placed in the correct safety position.
It is recommended to use 2 springs in advanced level exercises and in upright positions for more safety.
Keep children and pets away from the Reformer.
If you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath, stop exercising immediately.
Before starting any exercise program, consult your doctor.

Care & Maintenance

»Depending on the frequency of use, the springs are safe to use for one to two years or 3000 hours. Replace any spring that is creased, bent, or has gaps in its original position. ” Replace the ropes if they are damaged.
»Remove hairs and debris from the wheel axles. Systematically clean the rails on which the wagon moves. Garbage and microparticles can put pressure on the wheels, causing damage. If you hear noise from bearings or wheels they may need to be replaced.
»Check regularly and tighten all screws and nuts if necessary.
Replace immediately if screws, retaining bolts or other components are missing.

Check the Footbar regularly to make sure it is safe to use.

CLEANING

Wipe the wagon cushion, headrest, footbar and shoulder pads with a soft cloth and a mild detergent diluted with water after each use. Keep the transfer rail and wheels clean of dust and dirt. Clean the frame with a mild water cleaner. Keep ropes and springs clean.

Elements Loops Straps can be machine washed. Make sure they are well dried after washing before reusing.

SPRINGS

Systematic spring inspection is essential to keep your equipment in safe working order. All springs should be replaced at least every two years. Certain conditions and more extreme uses may reduce the life expectancy of the springs and the springs may need to be replaced more often. Therefore, it is very important to inspect the springs on a regular basis. Old springs lose their elasticity and may break during use. Injury is very likely to occur if a spring is broken during use.

Do not allow the springs to retract uncontrollably as this will damage the spring and shorten its life expectancy.

Inspect springs for gaps and creases (weekly or monthly, depending on frequency of use). Look for gaps and turns between the coils when the spring is at rest. It is not uncommon for the spring to have a very small gap at the conical end (sometimes a gap is created during the production process). However, there should be no gaps in the spring body. If you see any gaps or creases in the spring body, discontinue use and replace the springs immediately.
Stop using the spring immediately if you see any rust or oxidation during the inspection. Corrosion anywhere on the coils will shorten the life of the spring. Inspect the spring hooks for damage or breakage

SCREWS, NUT

Check all bolts, screws and nuts of the equipment (monthly). Make sure all screws, nuts and bolts are tight before use.

ROPES AND BELTS

Check for damage to the ropes and loops. The ropes will need to be replaced if you can see the rope core through the outer liner. Be sure to check the parts of the rope or straps that attach to the clips and pass through the pulleys.
